The all-new
O'Neal 2 Series Helmets are here, and boy do they
look good. Stylistically, the 2 Series helmets are available in either
the smooth Flat Black or the beautiful Manalishi Black/White paint job,
making them easy to match with most all gear sets on the market. You
know the old saying - black looks good with everything. O'Neal has long
been known for producing stylish looking gear that catches the eye, and
this newest venture continues that tradition.
On the technical side of things, the shell is constructed using a
polycarbonate/ABS thermoplastic blend. PC/ABS offers the most desirable
properties of both materials - the heat resistance and superior strength
of polycarbonate and the flexibility of ABS. Translated to English -
this helmet is no slouch in the durability department. In addition to
the 2 Series being built tough, the ultra-plush padded liners inside are
easily removable so you can give them a good scrub after your ride to
keep your helmet feeling fresh for the long run.
The helmet itself weighs in at just under 1,500 grams while also meeting
all DOT and ECE 22.05 safety standards. For those unfamiliar with these
standards, they are the standards required by both the Department of
Transportation in the United States and Economic Commission for Europe
(which covers nearly 50 countries). When your helmet meets these
standards, you can feel at ease trusting it with protecting your skull.
In the end, the all-new 2 Series helmets are a fine addition to the
O'Neal helmet family. They are trustworthy, stylish helmets at a price
point that won't break the bank.
